Over the last few years, the Easter Egg market has gone from strength to strength, with innovative new moulds used as well as creative and sublime artistry used to elevate the humble chocolate Easter Egg to something that's next level. We're now a long way away from a basic egg mould and a plain thin shell.

So, while you're stuck at home being socially responsible to help slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), you can, at least, feast your peepers on some delicious and beautiful works of art. Here are my top picks for the fanciest (and tastiest) Easter Eggs that you can order online for delivery to your door, subject to availability and while both the chocolate makers and delivery drivers are still allowed to work (pre-total lockdown).

I've ordered this list in price descending order, so you'll find the more expensive Easter eggs at the top. I've also included many eggs from small local chocolate makers and chocolatiers.

Have you tried wild gorse flower? No, me neither. According to Chocolarder, they're a right old pain to pick from prickly hedgerows along the Cornish coastline, but the small yellow flowers impart a warm coconut fragrance to the rich 50% Nicaraguan milk chocolate used to make this Easter Egg, so the result is worth it. The chocolate makers reckon you'll taste notes of toasted coconut, fudge, roasted nuts, and light red fruit in this flavoursome four-ingredient Easter Egg. You'll also have noticed the plastic-free, recyclable packaging, which gets another big thumbs up from me. £22; 185g.
